Sundays are for relaxing on the lawn, sipping a crisp white wine, and enjoying a hearty array of homemade food – and we can’t think of a better place to do this than at our very own Oxbow Country Estate. Situated just over an hour outside of Johannesburg, our beautiful venue is now offering spectacular Sunday picnics.
Whether you want to enjoy a romantic date, a fun day out with the whole family, or even a quick girls getaway, you can do it along the banks of our oxbow lake system while enjoying the fresh air, sunshine, and exceptional views.

WHAT’S INCLUDED?
For only R290 for a single basket, or R550 for a double, you can enjoy a fully prepared and packed picnic basket filled with delectable goodies. You can expect to see foods like a selection of artisanal baguettes, mini quiches, cheese and meat platters, mini phyllo baskets, beef carpaccio, fruit skewers, crème brûlée cheesecake, and more.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Oxbow Country Estate has plenty of activities for the whole family. Guests are more than welcome to arrive early and embark on an adventurous morning of hiking the area, walking through our gardens and over our many gorgeous bridges, or enjoying a coffee at our Sunday restaurant. The picnic baskets are served between 10am and 4pm and can be collected from the restaurant. From there, you are welcome to find a spot to sit in our gardens and enjoy the many delectable treats from your basket.
EXCLUSIONS
No drinks may be brought from outside. Guests can order drinks from our restaurant, where we have a fully licensed bar.
